Scott Gentle – Physiotherapist

In April of 2012, Scott joined the Butel Physiotherapy team along side Jamie Page and Cathy Butel. This was a turning point as Scott was always passionate and desperate to immerse himself in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Over the last 5 years Scott has gained significant experience in assessment and treatment of a wide range of issues.
Areas of expertise
Chronic pain is a major health concern in Australia, costing the government $55 billion per year! Scott is passionate about chronic pain and teaching patient how best to manage their situation. Scott recently attended a lecture given by two Professors who specialise in chronic pain management and is also booked in for a course in the middle of the year called “Preventing Chronicity”.
There is vast research currently being undertaken in chronic pain management and Scott is devoted to utilising this research and continuing to better his treatment programs through course education and individual learning. His expertise in chronic pain covers conditions such as; low back pain, neck pain, headaches, hip pain. Scott has also completed numerous post-graduate courses including; dry needling, myofascial release techniques and understanding chronic pain.
Scott is a Titleist Performance Institute certified medical professional. These qualifications allow him to perform specific golf assessments and specific treatments.
Scott also has a particular interest in sports injuries and rehabilitation, particularly in AFL, cricket, golf and triathlon. These are sports where he has not only competed at a high level, but also where he has spent valuable time working as a sports trainer and physiotherapist. If Scott isn’t in the clinic there is a good chance you may find him on the golf course!
He was also involved in a 2012 NSW PHD research project for the treatment of chronic pelvic and back pain.
